How I came to the Mayan Calendar and Dreamspell

A little over a year ago now, a friend of mine named Flavia suggested that the Mayan calendar would be of interest to me. Without her elaboration and her insistance, and since I already had a stack of books to read and too much on my plate already, I tucked her suggestion away. It was tucked away until I went on vacation in Brazil a couple months later in December 2005.
While staying at Trinidad beach (near Parati) I got to talking with the owner of my pousada, a Frenchman named Didier (pronounced deed-yay). In a melange of English, French and Portuguese, the two of us talked for hours about world events. Didier went on to describe and illustrate for me the correlation between:
a) Increasing dis-ease of the human race
and...
b) Global abandonment of a 13-moon calendar system
The human experience of time has become dissociated from the basic natural cycles to which all life on Earth has been intimately conceived. Disconnection with nature. Disharmony with woman. Disharmony with man. Disease.
On my return home to my tower near Reading, PA, I eagerly contacted Flavia to tell her of Didier and to consult her knowledge of the Mayan calendar. She told me to search the Internet for José Argüelles (Valum Votan, messenger of the New Time).
Since January of 2006, I have been studying the DreamSpell 13-Moon Calendar and using it daily as a means to raise my body-energy awareness (human holon), my awareness of the planet as an enrgistic living organism (geomancy), and my energistic connection to the planet (as a noospheric chip) and the cosmos, to all life here and beyond.
